LAKE WALES, Fla. - On a busy day one of the Lady Royals Labor Day Classic, Warner University women's volleyball team split their two matches. In game one, Warner lost to Central Methodist University (Mo.) 3-1 (30-28, 25-20, 18-25, 25-23). Then in the night cap, the Lady Royals defeated Dickinson State University (N.D.) 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-16).
The 1-1 split moves the Lady Royals' record to 4-4 on the season heading into day two of the tournament.
In their match against the Eagles,
Adrienne Czaplewski led all players with 17 kills and four service aces.
Angie Pagan-Perez finished with 13 kills and 14 digs.
Jenna Swaffer paced the offense with 42 assists as well.
In game two against the Bluehawks, Pagan-Perez led the offense with 14 kills and a .312 hitting percentage.
Breeanna Navarro also reached double digit kills with 10 in the win. Swaffer added 29 more assists to her tournament total giving the junior 71 for the day.
On Saturday, the Lady Royals return to action at 2 p.m. with their first ever meeting with Florida National University. Tournament play resumes at 9 a.m. and continues throughout the day with the final game slated for 4 p.m.
