Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla.- The women's volleyball team bounced back Saturday to take a 3-0 convincing win over visiting Florida Memorial Lions. Right away you could tell the Royals meant business as they came right after Florida Memorial and jumped all over them to take a commanding 19-9 lead in game one. The Lions would scratch out three more points but the Royals would not relent and win the game 25-12.
Set two was much of the same as the Royals would go up 12-5 then extend the lead further to 21-8. The Lions would benefit from a couple errors, however, Warner would finish off the game 25-13 over Florida Memorial. With a commanding 2-0 lead, the Royals didn't give the Lions any life as they jumped out to a 9-4 early lead in game three. Florida Memorial would catch wind and push the Royals a bit getting the score to 14-12 but the Royals would not faulter and go on to take the game 25-17 and the match 3-0.Â
The Royals were led offensively by
Adrienne Czaplewski with 14 kills and Angie Pagan Perez with 10 kills. Kiara Rivera Escudero led the Royals with 24 assists, while
Thalia Mendez led the way defensively with 15 digs. The Royals improved to 8-4 (4-2) on the season.
Warner travels to Lakeland to take on Southeastern on Wednesday October 5 at 7 pm for their next match.
