Women's Basketball Comes Up Short Against Keiser

Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla.- The Warner women's basketball team faced off at home against Keiser University Seahawks Saturday afternoon. The Royals, fresh off a conference win, were cold in the first quarter as they were outscored 22-10. The two teams were dead even in the second quarter but the Seahawks went into halftime with a 38-26 lead over the Royals. Warner only managed to shoot 31% from the field in the first half as opposed to Keiser shooting 57%.
The Royals came out in the second half a little more inspired and tried to fight back against the Seahawks, but Keiser kept shooting the ball well and maintained a 51-36 lead into the fourth quarter. The Royals played tough defense and outscored the Seahawks in the fourth, but the lead Keiser built in the first quarter was just too much to overcome and the Royals would fall 61-50. The loss drops the Royals to 4-4 (1-1) on the season.
Warner was led by Kaley Schmick with 19 points and 6 rebounds. The Royals will next play at Florida College on Tuesday November 22 at 6 pm.
