Box Score MIAMI, Fla.- The Warner women's volleyball team finished the week a perfect 2-0 as they went down to Miami and sept conference opponent Florida Memorial 3-0 on Saturday. In set one the Royals were able to jump ahead early and never look back as they downed the Lions 25-19 to take a quick 1-0 lead in the match.
Set two as the Royals went point for point with the Lions and even trailed for some of the second set before taking command late and winning the set 25-22. Set three was much of the same as the Royals went up big early but a Lions run evened the set. Both teams went point for point for the rest of the set but in the end the Royals were able to finish the Lions off 25-23 and sweep the match 3-0.
In the match, senior
Adrienne Czaplewski, had 20 kills and hit the 1,000 kill mark for her career. Czaplewski became the first women's volleyball player in Warner history to reach that milestone. Warner would like to congratulate Adrienne on her very impressive accomplishment.
Kiara Rivera Escudero would finish the match with 28 assists, while
Thalia Mendez and
Cat Lind both pitched in 14 digs apiece.
The Royals, 7-3 (3-1), will take on Webber International at the Turner Athletic Center on Wednesday September 28 at 7 pm.
