Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla.- The Royals women's basketball team hosted rival Webber International Warriors on Saturday afternoon in the Turner Athletic Center. The Royals did not disappoint the home fans as they were able to control the Warriors for much of the game and come away with a big Sun Conference victory 60-50. The Warriors and Royals played an even first half as the Warriors held a lead at the end of the first quarter but the Royals were able to come back in the second quarter and hit a shot at the end of the half to tie the score up at 25 going into the break. The second half was all Warner. The Royals finished off the third quarter with a 5-2 run and went into the fourth with a 40-37 lead. That is when the Royals would dominate the game. The Royals would begin the fourth quarter with a 10-4 run to pu them ahead 50-41 with six minutes remaining. Warner would then push the lead to ten points, 55-45, with 3:09 left in the game. The Warriors looked to make a comeback, but the Royals would stay poised and hit their free throws down the stretch to come away with the 60-50 win. The Royals would improve their record to 7-9 (2-3) on the season.

Cierra Wilson with 12 points and 4 assists while
Sara Poehlman and Kaley Schmick added 11 points each. The Royals will ext travel down to West Palm Beach to take on Keiser University on Thursday January 12. Game time is set for 7 pm.
