Box Score 2 LAKE WALES, Fla.- The baseball team took on Webber International Warriors Friday night and Saturday afternoon in a pair of non-conference games. The Friday night game took place at Webber. The Warriors got on the board first with a four run bottom of the first inning to take an early 4-0 lead. Webber would add single runs in the second and third innings as well. In the top of the third, the Royals would get on the scoreboard on a RBI single by
Broderick Rodocker that scored
Ryan Klingler. With the Royals down 6-1 in the fifth inning, Warner made a comeback. It started with a Webber error that put
Junior Fermin on first. Fermin then stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Xanders Vazquez then singled to bring hom Fermin. Rodocker would single right behind Vazquez, and bring up
Jesse Haney. Haney then laced a double to left center that scored both Vazquez and Rodocker to bring the score to 6-4. Webber would add three runs in the sixth inning and the offense would stop for both teams to end the game with a 9-4 Webber win. Haney and Rodocker would both finish the game 2-5 with an RBI.
Both teams would face off again on Saturday, this time at Warner University. Webber would once again strike first as they would put up five runs in the first four innings to take a 5-0 lead. The Royals would then come back in the bottom of the fourth when
Jesse Alker hit a 2 RBI double that scored
Chase Coon and
Will Nelson. Alker would score on a wild pitch later in the inning to make the score 5-3. Webber would ass three more runs before Rodocker would score on a Nelson double. This made the score 8-4. Webber then would tack on another four runs to take a 12-4 lead into the final two innings. The Royals would get single runs in the 8th, on a
Junior Fermin groundout, and the ninth, on a John Sena single, before falling to the Warriors 12-6.
Jesse Alker led the offense on the day going 3-4 with a double and 2 RBI's.
The Royals will next face off with Keiser in another non-conference matchup at home on Tuesday February 7 at 3 pm.
