Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla. The Royals baseball team took on #15 ranked Keiser Seahawks in another non-conference game Tuesday afternoon at Warner University. The Royals started off the game hot as they were able to set the Seahawks down in order in the first three innings. The Royals also got on the scoreboard first as
Gerson Sotolongo hit a solo homerun to lead off the bottom of the second inning to give the Royals a 1-0 lead. The score would remain that way until the top of the fifth inning when Keiser would explode for six runs on five hits and benefit from two Warner errors. The Seahawks pitchers would keep the Warner offense in check the rest of the game and Keiser would tack on single runs in the seventh and ninth innings to come away with the 8-1 mid-week win over the Royals.
Junior Fermin led the offense going 2-3 along with Sotolongo going 1-3 with the solo homerun. The Royals will travel down to Miami to open up conference play against Florida Memorial on Friday afternoon at 3 pm.
