The Royals trailed by 11 following the 1
st quarter. They used the duration of regulation play to gain those 11 back, outscoring the Wildcats 60-49. To tie the game at an even 65-65, the Royals
Sara Poehlman drained a 3-pointer followed by a layup off the hand of
Charisa Broadway. This lead the game into overtime.
The Royals gained the lead in OT quickly and held it until just a minute left; Wildcats were leading 74-73. Following a quick timeout,
Charisa Broadway broke loose for her 23
rd point of the night making the layup to put the Royals up 75-74. The Wildcats countered with a layup forcing the Royals into a must foul situation. Unfortunately for the Royals, the Wildcats nailed their free-throws and were able to hold on to a 79-74 victory.
The lady Royals suffered a tough OT loss but will have the chance to bounce back against Keiser in another tough TSC matchup. The Seahawks make the trek to Lake Wales to face the Royals at home in the TAC on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
