LAKE WALES – FLA. This afternoon the Lady Royals held their annual Dig Pink volleyball game and came away with a win as they swept Keiser in 3 sets by scores of 25-21, 25-20, and 25-18.
This is the second time these two teams have met this year, and the previous matchup had the same result as this one – a sweep for the Lady Royals.
For the first two sets, the two teams were back and forth as they battled each other with a total of 20 tied scores and 8 lead changes. However, the momentum sided with The Royals after they came back from a point deficiency midway through the second set and never relinquished the lead again. Set three saw more success for the Royals as they never once gave up a tied score or a lead change and put the Seahawks away 25-18.
The Lady Royals found much success capitalizing on Seahawks errors, as the opponent ended the game with a hitting percentage of .067, where Warner was able to hit .222 as a team.
Becca Bowlin had an explosive game in the middle as she compiled a hitting percentage of .636, totaling 7 kills. Defensively,
Andrea Lorenz hit double digit digs yet again with a total of 22 out of a total of 58 as a team.
The Lady Royals will take the court again on Wednesday, October 24
th at 7:00 PM in a home matchup against Ave Maria.
