LAKE WALES, Fla – Our Lady Royals soccer team headed over to Jacksonville last night to take on the Trinity Baptist Lady Eagles for a match between two NCCAA teams. Thanks to a stout defense and lethal offense the Lady Royals shutout the Eagles 3-0 and extend their winning streak to 7.
 
Last night's game saw an incredible 27 total shots by the Royals and 18 shots on goal;
 
The Lady Royals scored their first goal in the 23^rd minute when #27 Betina Gerhardt scored her 3^rd goal of the season off an assist from #10 Samanntha Warren. Warren leads the team in total points with 21.
 
The first half would come to an end with Warner ahead of Trinity Baptist 1-0. The Royals had 12 total shots in the half.
 
The Royals got to work quickly in the 2^nd half, scoring a goal in the 48^th minute when #3 Denise Ortiz scored an unassisted goal.
 
Ortiz would score another goal for the Royals in the 54^th minute off an assist from #19 Naisha Alicea. These are Ortiz's first 2 goals of the season.
 
With the 3-0 win the Lady Royals are now 8-2-1 on the season.
 
The Lady Royals have won a remarkable 7 games in a row and look to make it 8 when conference opponent Ave Maria University comes to town this Saturday, October 6^th. The game will be played at Royals Field at 6:30.
