Warner Men’s Basketball – #19 Royals Polish Off Falcons 83-61 For First Road Victory

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – The #19 Warner University Royals hit the road for the first time this season and leave with another win. Improving to 2-0, the Royals also delivered the Falcons their first loss of the season dropping them to 2-1.

The Royals had another four players reach the double-digit column in scoring tonight. Khalil Ozuna (18), Jarred Anderson (16), Trae Graham (15), and Jalen Williams (11).

Head Coach for the Royals, Sean Hanrahan said, "Our focus tonight was to improve on the defensive side of the ball. Our first game we were too enamored with jump shots and watching our teammates drive the ball. Playing without the is probably the hardest aspect to learn in the game."

Leading the way tonight was Khalil Ozuna with 18 points, 8 rebounds and shooting 7-18 from the field. Jarred Anderson finished the night with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal and hitting 4-8 from behind the arch.

Hanrahan said, "Tonight our goal was to defend every possession to exhaustion, 90% of our possessions we did that to the best of our ability. If we take a couple steps forward every single game these nine new players that we have will continue to grow and be very competitive all year."

Defensively, Trae Graham established himself as a wall with 2 blocks, 9 rebounds and 15 points.

The Royals had 9 steals on the night and really plundered the ball defensively coming away with 33 defensive rebounds. They shot 44% from the field and 52% from 3-point range.

They will now take a couple days and shift their focus as they'll travel to the always tough Edward Waters Tigers in Jacksonville next Tuesday.
