Kingsport, TN. – The Warner Royals battled hard against the Union County Bulldogs this afternoon and despite a 2
nd half comeback the Royals fell short of the Bulldogs 79-67.
Warner's defense struggled in the first half and the team went into halftime trailing 45-28.
The Royals shot 38 % in the first half, while the Bulldogs shot 48% in the half.
The Royals came out shooting much better in the 2
nd half and played much tighter defense, as they rallied a comeback and outscored the Bulldogs 39-34 in the half.
Khalil Ozuna led the way for the Royals with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Trae Graham also scored more than 20 points (23) and grabbed 6 rebounds in the game.
The Royals did a great job of scoring in the paint tonight, scoring 40 points as a team. Look for the team to build off this and continue this trend and good ball movement in their next game tomorrow against #2 Indiana University East.
