Kingsport, TN. – The Royals had short rest before their game today against #2 Indiana University East in the NAIA Showcase Tournament this Thanksgiving weekend and after battling hard for 40 minutes the Royals came up just short of the Red Wolves 73-76.
 
The Royals played the #9 and #2 ranked teams over the last 2 days and played well against each team and can take away a lot from this weekend that they can use later on down the road this season.
 
Warner's leading scorers this afternoon were:

• Bart Schild – 17 points, 6 rebounds. Bart came off the bench for the Royals today and ended up leading the way in points for the team in only 24 minutes of play.

 

• Trae Graham – 14 points, 8 rebounds. Graham fouled out of the game after only playing 19 total minutes.

 

• Jaylan Shelton – 12 points, 5 rebounds. Jaylen played 31 total minutes and also had 5 assists in the ball game.

 
The Royals once again dominated the paint, scoring 51 of the teams 73 points in the paint. Bart Schild had 17 of the teams 27 bench points, and the team also grabbed 11 points off turnovers.
 
The Red Wolves defense did a good job containing Khalil Ozuna and not allowing him to take off like he can.
 
Despite the loss the Royals can hang their hats on this weekend and the effort they gave over the past 2 games.
