LAKE WALES – FLA. After an exciting 5 set victory on Tuesday night over the St. Thomas University Bobcats, the Lady Royals now venture into the TSC Semi-Final round tomorrow night. The semifinal round of The Sun Conference Volleyball Tournament begins Friday at 3:30 p.m. with Southeastern facing Coastal Georgia and continues at 7:30 p.m. with Webber International taking on Warner University.
This evening, The Sun Conference announced its volleyball honors for the 2018 season at the annual conference tournament banquet, hosted by top-seeded Webber International.
After having amazing senior seasons,
Breeanna Navarro was awarded a spot on the All Sun Conference First-Team, and
Andrea Lorenz was placed on the All Sun Conference Second-Team.
The Lady Royals also placed a conference-best five student athletes onto the Academic All-Conference Team:
Marissa Intoppa,
Ashley Kube,
Andrea Lorenz,
Cheyenne Miller, and
Breeanna Navarro.
Tomorrow night's matchup will feature the regular season champs – the Webber International Warriors, and our own Royals. Although Warner has suffered two losses this season at the hands of the Warriors, they were able to take Webber into 5 sets the first time and 4 sets the next. The Lady Royals are coming off of a big victory whereas the Warriors have had a bye week.
The winners of the two games occurring tomorrow will go head to head on Saturday afternoon for The Sun Conference Championship.
