BRUNSWICK, GA. -- #23 Warner University Royals routed the Coastal Georgia Mariners 94-82, now set sights on TSC 1
st place #14 Saint Thomas University Bobcats.
Melton Sanders and
Khalil Ozuna helped the Royals overpower the Mariners with a combined 56 points.
Denzell Osson got things started early for the Royals knocking down a 3-pointer and drawing first blood. 7 minutes in,
Khalil Ozuna was fouled by Lee Green and used the chance to nail both of his free-throws giving the Royals a 15-9 lead. 05:37 left in the half, the Royals jumped out to their largest lead in the first half on the back of
Jalen Williams layup that extended to a 28-20 Royals lead. Warner would carry a 42-38 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Royals only heated up in the 2
nd half and extended the lead finishing off the Mariners by the final of 94-82. In the 2
nd half the Royals shot 52% from the field, 56% from beyond the arch and hit 19-20 of their free-throws for 95%.
Melton Sanders took of leading the way with 31 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
Khalil Ozuna put up 25 points and 2 rebounds.
Nick Macon had 15 points and 3 steals.
Denzell Osson was the best all around with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.
