Men’s Volleyball Leaps Into 1st Place In Conference Remaining Unbeaten At Home

LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner Royals victims this weekend were Campbellsville and St. Andrews. Beating Campbellsville (9-9, conf 2-4) 3-1 on Friday night, the Royals then went on to beat St. Andrews (11-5, conf 6-1) to establish their 1st place bid in the conference.

GAME 1 – Royals defeat Tigers (25-14, 15-25, 25-22, 25-20)

The Royals had a great kill percentage of .327 on the match. Florian Sievers and Alexander Lazo led the way with 11 kills apiece. Andrew Holman had a great game defensively with 5 blocks and Lazo added 4 blocks. Neil Werzer sits in 3rd place in the conference with his assists per game of 7.1, he added 46 on the day. John Montalvo- Camacho continues to lead the conference in digs per game with 3.3 and added 20 more over the 4 sets.

GAME 2 – Royals defeat Knights (25-18, 25-21, 22-25, 25-22)

Entering the game St. Andrews was an undefeated 6-0 in conference play. The Royals entered at 6-1 in conference play. The Royals took command and was looking for a 3 set sweep, a stumble in the 3rd set would hold them from doing so but they pounced back in the 4th taking the game 3-1. Alexander Lazo led the way with 14 kills and Jordan Barreto followed closely with 13 of his own. Lazo again made his presence known registering 3 blocks with Jordan Barreto and Andrew Holman both with a block. Neil Werzer assisted 41 times while Jose Morales received 10 digs.

The Royals remain undefeated at home with a 6-0 record. They sit 9-2 overall with a 7-1 conference record.
