The Royals traveled to Brunswick, Georgia this weekend and battled with an intense field of teams this weekend, the Lady Royals walked away with a record of 1-3.
Game 1 Recap
The Lady Royals went head to head with the Reinhardt University Eagles this morning and put up a respectable fight against the nationally recognized team who is receiving votes to be placed in the top 25 spots in the NAIA.
Breeanna Navarro and
Cheyenne Miller led the way offensively with a combined 19 kills. Senior
Raygen Lee and freshman
Bailee Mack each tallied 15 assists while defensively,
Andrea Lorenz totaled 19 digs. Unfortunately, the Royals dropped three sets to Reinhardt with scores of (25-18, 25-20, and 27-25) which moved their record to 0-3.
Game 2 Recap
In the second game of the day, the Royals found their groove and took the win in just three sets. There is no doubt they pulled together and played with fire and intensity. They took the game by sweeping the Life University Eagles with scores of (25-22, 25-13, and 25-21). Again, senior
Breeanna Navarro led the way with 10 kills, and
Sydney Ackermann totaled 8 kills herself.
Raygen Lee chalked up 21 assists and 5 digs, while
Andrea Lorenz held down the court with 20 total digs. The Royals combined for 5 aces, and 5 blocks.
The Lady Royals will be competing again next weekend in the St. Thomas University Classic in Miami Gardens, Fla. where they will get the chance to play more NAIA nationally ranked teams.
