LAKE WALES – FLA.
The Warner University Women's Volleyball team will make their Sun Conference debut tomorrow night in a home matchup against the Ave Maria Gyrenes. By the time they play tomorrow, the Royals will have been on an 11 day streak without a game, just practices and one exhibition match after hosting a successful Labor Day Classic tournament.
Currently Ave Maria holds a 3-3 record, with one of those wins over a Sun Conference team already. Your Royals will go into tomorrow night's game with a 4-7 record, and have had meetings with three of the top 25 ranked teams in the NAIA, with an additional two teams who are receiving votes.
Players to watch:
For Ave Maria, some key players to keep an eye on consist of their offensive leader, middle hitter Erica Chenard with 54 kills, their defensive leader, libero Daniela Jaramillo with 86 digs, and their leader in assists with 98, the setter, Cassie Davis.
For the Royals, the obvious players to watch are our defensive leader,
Andrea Lorenz with 219 digs, our offensive leader,
Breeanna Navarro with 110 kills, and our leader with assists,
Raygen Lee with a total of 215. However, several other key players have had huge moments, and great stats to back it up.
Sydney Ackermann has racked up 84 kills,
Aurora Alderman has totaled 129 digs, and freshman
Bailee Mack has put up a total of 123 assists.
Last season, the Lady Royals swept the Gyrenes both times during their regular season matchups.
Tomorrow night's game kicks off Warner's Sun Conference schedule, which continues on into the Conference Tournament in November.
