LAKE WALES – FLA. The Lady Royals kicked off their Sun Conference matchups schedule tonight at home against the Ave Maria Gyrenes.
Warner came into this game with a 4-7 record, having already faced a few very tough opponents, and Ave had a 3-3 record with a conference opponent win under their belt already.
The 3 set sweep began when the Royals drew first blood in set one and never looked back. The Royals did not fall behind their opponent even one time tonight, lighting up the scoreboard with score totals of 25-18, 25-5, and 26-24.
The Royals took advantage of 21 attack errors from their opponents and capitalized on these opportunities while minimizing their attack errors to only 12, with 95 total attack attempts. 37 kills collectively for the Royals would be plenty enough to get our ladies their first conference dub. Offensively, they Royals were led by
Sydney Ackermann and
Breeanna Navarro who has 8 and 9 kills respectively.
Andrea Lorenz put up a total of 17 digs during the three sets, and
Raygen Lee tallied up 14 assists.
This weekend, your Lady Royals are on the road to Miami where they will take on their second conference opponent, Johnson and Wales University at 2:00 PM on Saturday September 15
