LAKE WALES, Fla – The Lady Royals took on the SCAD-Savannah Bees tonight in their first conference game of the season; the Lady Royals would end the night with a 3-2 win to open their conference schedule. The match was a back and forth battle that came down the wire as both sides exchanged goals in the last 12 minutes of the match but in the end it was the Warner Royals who came away victorious.
 
The Royals started the first half slow offensively but played good defense, keeping the Bees from reaching the back of net the entire half. The bees peppered 9 shots in the half with 4 on goal but Royals goalie Sarah Bergkvist managed to save all 4 shots to preserve the first half shut out.
 
The Royals struck pay dirt first in the 29^th minute when #7 Cristina Clements knocked in her 2^nd goal of the season off an assist from #10 Samanntha Warren.

Minutes later in the 32^nd minute #10 Warren knocked in the Royals 2^nd goal of the half, bringing the lead up to 2-0; this was Samanntha's 5^th goal of the season.
 
The offenses came out the gate swinging for both sides in the second half but it was SCAD who found the back of the net first when Annie Sullivan scored a rebound goal for the Bees bringing the score to 2-1.

The Bees evened things up 2-2 in the 78^th minute when Annie Sullivan knocked in her 2^nd goal of the game.

The Royals yet again found the back of the net in the 81^st minute when Cristina Clements scored a goal to give the Lady Royals the lead 3-2; this was Clements 2^nd goal of the match and her 3^rd goal on the season.

The Royals would hold the Bees the rest of the game and walk away with their first conference win of the year as they defeat the SCAD Savannah Bees 3-2.
 
The team is set to take on conference rival Webber International in their next match this Saturday September 22, 2018 at 430 PM at Royals Field in Lake Wales.
