LAKE WALES, Fla. – Last night our Warner Royals battled their conference foe the St. Thomas Bobcats and in a back and forth match that saw 10 lead changes the Royals were able to come away with the victory 79-72.
This is Warner's 6
th conference win and are now 6-1 in conference play this season and have an overall record of 12-6.
The Bobcats had 3 different players score in double-digits, while the Royals had 4:
The Royals trailed by 4 heading into halftime and looked out of sync for most of the first half, but after a strong motivational speech at halftime and buying into Head Coach
Sean Hanrahan's game plan the Royals came out and flipped the script on the Bobcats.
Down the stretch the game plan for the Royals was to sub in
Bart Schild and
Austin Walker for defense because of the foul trouble that
Darryl Mercer Jr. and
Khalil Ozuna were in but once the Royals got back on offense Coach Hanrahan would sub in Mercer Jr. and Ozuna to help the offensive strike.
This is a big win for the Royals and will help the team as they continue conference play over the next few weeks.
The Royals are back in action next Thursday against Johnson & Wales at 7:30 P.M. in the Turner Athletic Center.
