Warner Women’s Soccer - Lady Royals Soccer Take Night Hawks Into Double OT

Thomasville, GA.- Warner women's soccer traveled to Thomas University soccer complex this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. and took the Night Hawks to double overtime.
 
The Royals started off strong in the 4th minute of the game with Kristin Campbell nailing a header for the first goal of the game assisted by Taylor Boyd.
 
In the 22nd minute, Maddie Manzke, assisted by Cristina Clements, took the second successful shot of the game. Manzke is leading the team with 11 goals on the season.
 
The Royals halfway through the first half carried a 2-0 lead. The Night Hawks, towards the end of the first period, struck net for their first successful shot by Jana Pastorek. The Royals would take a 2-1 lead into halftime.
 
Roles turned as the Night Hawks started strong in the beginning of the second half within the 1st minute of play. Jen Clyde was given a penalty kick that was successful. The Royals and Night Hawks would stayed tied 2-2 and head into the eventual overtime.  
 
The Royals rifled off  2 shots in the first overtime. Neither opportunity would hit net sending the game into double overtime.
 
In the 2nd minute of double overtime, a shot by the nights hawks was saved by Mackenzie Spurling. In the 3rd minute, Emily Linscer from Thomas University struck a header into the net giving the Night Hawks a 3-2 victory over the Royals.
 
The Royals host Johnson & Wales University at Royals field on Wednesday, October 30th at 7:00 p.m.
