LAKE WALES, Fla. - The 2019-2020 women's basketball season will be underway with the Royals playing host to the Johnson University Suns this Saturday, November 2nd, at 5:30 PM in the Turner Athletic Center.
Lead by new head coach
Nikki Jessee, the Royals will look to start strong at home to start the season before heading on the road for two straight games and returning to the T.A.C on November 11th. "This year is about laying a foundation for this program and establishing expectations. I'm excited to get a gauge to where our team is at heading into the season. We expect to compete at a very high level, and we realize there's a lot of people to prove wrong. I'm ready to show other teams that this is a very different team from years past, the sky is the limit for these players!" said coach Jessee.
Warner's season roster features 12 freshmen, with 5 returners from last season.
As a fellow member of the NCCAA, the Suns ended the 2018-2019 season with a 5-22 overall record and will enter the T.A.C on Saturday having already played 4 games this season. The Suns currently have an 0-2 season record and are set to play Edward Waters College on 10/31 and St. Thomas University on 11/1.
The Royals finished the 2018-2019 season with a 7-23 overall record and failed to record a Sun-Conference victory, finishing the year 0-18 in TSC play; but with the wave of fresh talent and a new and invigorating Head Coach,
Nikki Jessee, there is a lot of hype surrounding the team and their season expectations.
All home games will be broadcast with live video and stats on the Warner Royals Sports Network. Visit
