Warner Football – Overtime Heartbreak In Lakeland As Royals Fall To Bobcats

LAKELAND, Fla. – Warner football struggles continue as they near the end of the season and they fell to the Bobcats of St. Thomas University 31-38 in overtime.
 
Dylan Blair took to the air connecting with receivers 17 times for 229-yards and throwing 3 TD's. Javon Wilson tied Bryant Benton with five career 100+ yard rushing games as he sliced his way through the Bobcats defensive line for a season high 155-yards. Wilson and Benton now sit tied at second in Warner football history as Wilson now just needs one more game to catch DJ Davis for the most 100+ yard rushing games in history with six.
 
Keon Brown, Jefferey Jennings III and Andre Tommie all connected with Blair for receiving TD's. Keon Brown caught 3 passes for 79-yards and a TD. Jeffery Jennings grabbed 3 passes for 45-yards and a TD. Andre Tommie brought in 2 catches for 19-yards and a TD.
 
Defensively, Moses Mertilus was everywhere as he had a season high 16 tackles with 10 of them being solo. 3 of those tackles were losses for a total of 8-yards and he was also responsible for a forced fumble.
 
The royals started the first half strong hanging 21-points to the Bobcats 10. Neither teach reached the board in the 2nd quarter sending the game to halftime with a Royals 21-10 lead.
 
The Royals extended on their lead and jumped out to a 31-17 separation in the 3rd quarter. It was all Bobcats in the 4th quarter as they amassed a game tying 14-points and would send the game into overtime. The Bobcats scored on their opening drive then the Royals failed to answer. It was the first ever meeting between the two teams as the Bobcats are in their inaugural season. The Royals fell to the Bobcats 31-38.
 
With the loss, the Royals fall to 1-7 overall and a Mid-South Sun Division record of 0-4.
