LAKE WALES, Fla. – NAIA No. 21 Warner University proved yet again how tough it is for an opponent to enter the Turner Athletic Center and leave with a win. The Royals clipped the Falcons of Florida College by a final score of 97-63.
The Royals have not lost at home in regular season play since February 8
th, 2018 and that was to the NAIA No. 9 team in the nation St. Thomas where they lost 89-94. Tonight, they extend that streak to 15 straight wins.
Beating the Royals at home is hard to do, especially when they have seven players register double digit points.
Darryl Mercer (15),
Anterrius Washington (15),
Maxwell Benoit (14),
Kimar Edwards (12),
Rod Boggan (11),
Joshua Rathell (10) and
Jaquez Dickerson (10).
Darryl Mercer finished the game with a double-double tallying 15-points and 10 assists. Mercer also added 6 defensive rebounds and 2 steals on the night.
Jaquez Dickerson registered a double-double as well with 10-points and almost doubling his season rebounds adding 14 on the night giving him a total of 29 boards.
The Royals held their largest lead of the night which was a 38-point separation with 2:14 remaining in the game. They shot 51% from the field in the second half finishing off the 3-1, now 3-2 Falcons 97-63.
The Royals improve to 4-0 to start the season and now own a seven-game win streak against opponents with a bird as their mascot.
