No. 21 Warner Men’s Basketball – Royals Bruise Barons Winning Fifth Straight

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – For the third time in five games, the Royals have hung triple digits on an opponent taking the 112-79 victory.

This is only the second time in the school's history that they've met on the court. The first ever meeting was October 27, 2017 in Lake Wales, Fla. In the first meeting, the Royals came away with a tight 79-75 victory and led the series 1-0.

The Royals moved that marker to 2-0 all-time against the Barons as they put up 112 tonight.

Warner extends their season average to 102 points per game with tonight's win. This is largely in part to another six Royals adding double digit points tonight. Maxwell Benoit (19), Joseph Martz (14), Joshua Rathell (13), Rod Boggan (13), Anterrius Washington (12), and Darryl Mercer (12).

Maxwell Benoit made 7-9 from the field nailing 3-3 from beyond the arch. He finished the night with 19 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists and 1 steal. Joseph Martz added 14 points on the night making 9-12 from the charity stripe. He also snagged 3 rebounds and had a steal. Rod Boggan held the hottest hand making 4-4 from the field including his only 3-point attempt. He also led the team in assist finishing the night with 6.

As a team the Royals proved to be lethal hitting 65% from the field, 39-60 shots. They made 53% from beyond the arch, 8-15.

The Royals improve to 5-0 on the season and will take on Middle Georgia State (3-1) tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
