LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Royals needed to win both games in today's double header to claim the 1
st TSC series of the year and did just that, routing the Gyrenes 14-4 in game 1 and winning game 2 by way of a
Ronny Penalo walk off single to right field.
With the 2 wins today Warner now sits at 5-3 on the year with a 2-1 conference record.
Warner put an exclamation point on this weekend series against Ave Maria because after winning game 2 of the series 14-4 in 7 innings, in game 3 of this weekend series between the Warner Royals and the Ave Maria Gyrenes,
Ronny Penalo came up to the plate with 2outs, in the bottom of the 9
th inning and with a 3-2 count knocked in the game tying and game winning run to walk off the series for the Royals at home.
The Royals entered the 9
th inning of game 3 trailing 3-2 and with 2 outs Penalo's single flew over the head of the 2
nd baseman; the runner on 2
nd base,
Xanders Vazquez, was off and running on the swing scoring game winning run and sealing the series victory.

Game 2 of the Double Header Recap
Jarrett Joyner started things off on the mound for the Royals in game 2 of the double header; Joyner lasted 4 innings and was replaced by
Kody Smith; Smith pitched 3 innings and was relieved by
Taylor Briggs who held solid for the Royals and did not give up the lead or a hit in 2 innings pitched, earning himself the win.
The Royals jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 3
rd inning when
Ronny Penalo hit a ground ball to 3
rd and the Gyrene's 3
rd baseman made an error allowing
Xanders Vazquez to score.
Ave was able to retaliate quickly, tying the game at 1 a piece in the top of the 4
th inning off an error by the Royals shortstop and took the lead off a SAC fly and passed ball; the Gyrenes would lead 3-1 after 3 and half innings.
Both sides pitched well from the 5
th – 7
th innings with neither side giving up a run; however, in the bottom of the 8
th inning Warner was able to bring the deficit to just 1 when
Ronny Penalo was able to score the 2
nd run for the Royals.
Warner trailed 3-2 entering the bottom half of the 9
th inning and just like out of a story book,
Ronny Penalo, with 2 outs, bases loaded and a full count hit a clutch single to right field to win the game and win the series for the Royals.
The Royals 1
st 5 batters hit a combined 6-16 (.375) with 3 RBI's and 4 runs scored. The top of the lineup and the pitching and defense down the stretch of the game were keys success for Warner today in game 2 of the double header.
