WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Royals completed their 5thand 6thgames in three days falling to the NAIA #5 Georgia Gwinnett Grizzlies and taking down the Martin Methodist RedHawks.

GAME 1 - WU 4, GGC 15

The Royals were stunned by the NAIA #5 Grizzlies as their offense was relentless. The Grizzlies smacked 6 homeruns and could not be stopped offensively. The Royals were held to 2 hits in the game. Caitlyn Yockey and Kasey Heslin registered the hits for the Royals with both of them scoring a run in the game. Kaitlyn Ridolph pushed across 2 RBI's in the game while Caitlyn Yockey and Sara Bruno were responsible for 1 RBI a piece. Above all, it was the Grizzlies that broke out for 16 hits, 6 homeruns and 15 runs in the game improving their overall record to 9-0 on the season.

GAME 2 – WU 3, MMC 2

The Royals were able to put the previous game behind them which is hard to do and battle the RedHawks to a 3-2 victory. The runs for either team were silent until the 4thinning when the Redhawks capitalized on an error and a crucial base hit to take a 2-0 lead in the top of the 4th. The Royals also fired up the offense in the bottom of the 4th. Kaitlyn Ridolph smacked a double into the right center gap that scored Ashton Owen. Later in the inning, Megan Garfinkel shot a sharp single into left field that scored Ridolph. Kasey Heslin stepped in a little later and hit a single into left field right over the 3rdbaseman pushing Yockey across the plate then Garfinkel was thrown out at home trying to extend. With the bottom of the 4th, the Royals took a 3-2 lead and would hang on until the end to take the victory. Ashton Owen had the best game at the plate going a straight 3-3 with a double. Sylvia Welsh improved to 2-0 on the season as she tossed a second complete game with 7 innings pitched, 5 hits, 2 runs and 5 strikeouts.
