LAKE WALES, Fla. – This Saturday the Warner Royals faced off against the Florida National Conquistadors in a double header, both games were scheduled to be 7 innings. The Royals offense came out to play this afternoon as they had tallied 18 hits and 16 runs on the day, 10 hits and 10 runs in game 1 and 8 hits and 6 runs in game 2.
 
Warner ran away with game 1, defeating the conquistadors 10-3 and jumped out to an early 6 run lead in game 2; thanks to a dominating outing from the Royals pitchers, Jarrett Joyner and Kody Smith, they were able to complete the 3 game sweep, winning game 2 6-0.
 
The Royals pitching and defense played superbly today, only allowing 3 runs in 14 innings of play, along with 10 SO's in game 1 and 8 SO's in game 2. Jaryd Clary grabbed his 1^st win of the year in game 1 and was followed by Michael Batten and in game 2 Jarrett Joyner started things off on the mound for Warner and pitched 5 shutout innings before Kody Smith came in and closed the door for the Royals on the day.

FNU: FNU got a leadoff single to start the game, the baserunner stole 2^nd base and scored when he attempted to steal 3^rd as the Royals catcher short hopped the 3^rd baseman shooting the ball into the outfield and allowing the runner to score.

Warner: Rio Russell hit a leadoff triple to right center, Trey Matthews singled down the left field line to drive in Russell, Ronny Penalo singled down the left field line with 2 outs, Jan Martinez singled to right center to bring home Matthews.
 
2^nd Inning
FNU: 1^st 2 batter popped up to 2^nd base, FNU got a 2 out single to left and flew out to left to end the inning.

Warner: Rio Russell drew a 1 out walk; Scott Fickas drew a 2 out walk, a passed ball advanced the runners into scoring position, Trey Matthews singled to left center to drive in both runs.

FNU: leadoff single, double down the left field line scored the 2^nd run of the game for FNU, the baserunner stole 3^rd with 1 out, an error by the Warner short stop with 2 outs allowed the 3^rd FNU run to come across the plate.

Warner: Alfred Brown singled to left field driving in Erich Jaquez for the 4^th Royal run, Brown later scored on a wild pitch, Trey Matthews singled to right center to drive in Rio Russell and give the Royals their 6^th run of the game.
 
Jarrett Joyner and Kody Smith combined for 8 SO's on the mound, tossing the 1^st shutout of the year for the Royals and helped lead them to their 3^rd victory this season.
