LAKE WALES, Fla. – This Saturday the Warner Royals faced off against the Florida National Conquistadors in a double header, both games were scheduled to be 7 innings. The Royals offense came out to play this afternoon as they had tallied 18 hits and 16 runs on the day, 10 hits and 10 runs in game 1 and 8 hits and 6 runs in game 2.
Warner ran away with game 1, defeating the conquistadors 10-3 and jumped out to an early 6 run lead in game 2; thanks to a dominating outing from the Royals pitchers,
Jarrett Joyner and
Kody Smith, they were able to complete the 3 game sweep, winning game 2 6-0.
The Royals pitching and defense played superbly today, only allowing 3 runs in 14 innings of play, along with 10 SO's in game 1 and 8 SO's in game 2.
Jaryd Clary grabbed his 1
st win of the year in game 1 and was followed by
Michael Batten and in game 2
Jarrett Joyner started things off on the mound for Warner and pitched 5 shutout innings before
Kody Smith came in and closed the door for the Royals on the day.
