LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner Royals grabbed their 21
st and 22
nd wins of the season today as they swept the Purdue Northwestern Pride in a 2 game set at Royals Field this afternoon.
The Royals shut out the Pride in game 1, 2-0 and won game 2 by a score of 8-4.
With the wins Warner is 22-8 on the season.

Game 1:
Andres Fernandez took the mound for the Royals in game 1 and grabbed his 4
th win of the year (4-3); pitching a complete game shutout vs the NCAA DII PNW Pride.
Fernandez was magnificent on the mound, striking out 6 batters only giving up 1 walk.
The Royals jumped on the board early, scoring in the bottom of the 1
st inning off a
Ronny Penalo single up the middle that scored
Scott Fickas.
In the 3
rd inning
Rio Russell stole 2
nd and advanced to 3
rd on an over throw from the catcher that went into center field, the center fielder came up and attempted to throw Russell out at 3
rd but overthrew the 3
rd baseman allowing Russell to come around and score the 2
nd run of the game.
Game 2:
Jaryd Clary took the mound for the Royals in game 2 and pitched 3 innings, earning his 5
th win of the year (5-0, before being relieved by
Ryan Klingler in the 4
th inning.
Klingler pitched 1 inning before being relieved by
Kody Smith who closed things down for the Royals, pitching the 3 innings and earning his 1
st save of the year.
The Pride jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1
st but the Royals were able to answer back with a SAC fly from
Deven Kirkland and then scored 3 more in the inning when
Erich Jaquez tattooed a ball over left center for his 1
st homerun of the year.
Royals led 4-1 after 2.
The Pride hit a solo homerun in the top of the 3
rd to bring the lead down to 4-2.
In the bottom of the 3
rd Scott Fickas singled up the middle to bring home
Xanders Vazquez.
PNW scored their third run off of a wild pitch in the top of the 4
th.
The Royals scored their next three runs off of a solo homerun from
Trey Matthews, off of a wild pitch that allowed
Ronny Penalo to score, and a balk that allowed
Xanders Vazquez to score the 8
th run of the game for the Royals.
PNW added one more in the top of the 7
th but fell to the Royals 8-4, sealing the Royal's 22
nd win of the year.
