#19 Warner Baseball – Royals Drop Game 1 To Seahawks; Vazquez hits His 9th HR

West Palm Beach, Fla. – The Warner Royals dropped game 1 of their 7th Sun Conference Series vs. the Keiser University Seahawks; falling 16-2 to the NAIA #17 Seahawks.

The Royals are now 30-16 on the year with a 10-9 conference record and are fighting for a spot in the playoffs with the 2 remaining games in the series, which are set for Saturday, April, 13th.

The Seahawks and Royals are both fighting for the 3rd position with the TSC playoff standings.

Alex Vazquez hit his 9th HR and drove in his 51st run of the year in the 5th inning, hitting a solo HR to left center; Scott Fickas later scored in the inning off a SAC fly from the bat of Anthony Martinez, Fickas reached base safely on an infield single.

Alex Vazquez ranked 10th in the NAIA in RBI's and 40th in HR before the game this afternoon, so expect his rankings to improve with the solo HR hit in game 1.

The Royals own the all-time series vs. the Seahawks with a 21-18 record.

The Royals won the 1st time meeting between the two teams in 2006, their largest victory vs the Seahawks is 7 runs and they are looking for the 18th win in TSC games vs Keiser.

Look for Jaryd Clary and Andres Fernandez to take the mound for the Royals in the double-header against the Seahawks tomorrow, With a sweep tomorrow the Royals should have a high percentage chance to seal the 3rd playoff spot in the conference.
