BRUNSWICK, Ga. – Warner completes clean sweep of Middle Georgia State College in opening match of the Coastal Georgia Mariner Invitational.
The Royals were clicking on all cylinders this afternoon as they held the Knights to an average of 13 points per set. The final scores of the three-set sweep for Warner was (25-13, 25-11, 25-15).
Alexandra Gonzalez finished 2 digs shy of a double-double as she finished with 13 kills, 8 digs and a massive .550 hitting percentage.
Lady Gwendolyn Simpson served 3 aces from the line while adding 3 block assists.
Cheyenne Miller also put up big numbers for attacks with 9 kills and hitting .412 in the match. Another 3 aces were added by
Grace Bergeron along with 10 digs.
Madison Hughes came away with 20 assists on the afternoon and
Bailee Mack followed closely with 15. As a team, the Royals finished the match with an attacking percentage of .366.
This was the first game for Warner in the Mariner Invitational. They take on West Virginia University IT and St. Andrews University tomorrow, 8-24 at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
