Warner Football – Royals Fall In Home Opener In Second Straight Week

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -  It was a tough game for the Royal as they fell in the non-conference matchup to St. Thomas University 6-38.

Warner football has been used to an offense that moved the ball down the field in the first two games scoring a combined 55 points. The Bobcats were able to storm in and stop a highly successful Royals offense.

The Bobcats scored 24 unanswered points that lasted until the start of the fourth quarter. Javon Wilson found the endzone for the Royals on a 5-yard dash up the middle. That's Wilson second TD of the season. Wilson also carried the Royals rushing game with 21 attempts for 128 yards. That marks the third straight game over 100-yards for the Royals senior running back.

Dylan Blair started at quarterback for the Royals and had completed 2 of 3 passing attempts before exiting the game with an unknown injury.

Kama Jackson III led the Royals defense with 9 tackle, 4 solo and 5 unassisted. Sedrick Moultrie broke through the Bobcats line and registered a sack along with six other tackles.

The Royals put up 254 yards of total offense. The Bobcats answered with 379 total yards of offense. With a crucial injury to the Royals starting quarterback, it held Warner to just 33 passing yards in the contest. The Royals are now 0-2 when facing the Bobcats.
