LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner extended their win streak to three straight games to start out their 2020-21 campaign.
It was the Lions that jumped out to an early lead maintaining a five-point separation through the first 10:00 minutes of play. The Royals regained the lead then for the majority of the game held off the Lions until pulling away late in the second half.
Rod Boggan stunned Florida Memorial posting a career best 28 points. He used an 8-15 performance from the field to gain the 28 points along with nailing 10-11 from the charity stripe.
Darryl Mercer Jr. added a season best 14 points with 5 rebounds and a thrifty 5 steals.
Logan West was the third Royals to finish in the double digit column for points posting 11 points and registering a double-double by grabbing 10 boards.
Collectively, the Royals shot near 40% from the field and hit 78% of their free throws.

The Royals improve to 6-2 over the Lions in the last eight games played. A mere 3 point separation won the game for Florida Memorial in the last meeting. Overall, the Royals have a commanding lead in the series standing out in front 30-13. In the Turner Athletic Center, the Royals prove to be a tough opponent to the Lions carrying a 18-6 record. Next up the Royals face another tough Sun Conference matchup against the College of Coastal Georgia. The Mariners are 2-1 on the season with a pair of wins over Brewton-Parker College and only falling to Middle Georgia State in their home opener 88-91.
