No. 25 Warner Softball – Royals Extend Win Streak To 5 With 28 Combined Runs In Sweep Over Robert Morris (Ill.)

LAKE WALES, Fla. – Royals improve to 13-3 on the season with a clean sweep over Robert Morris (Ill.) tonight 8-6 then 20-1.
 
Game 1 – WU 8, RMU 6
 
The Royals used 14 hits in game one to come away with an 8-6 victory. Kayleigh Walters, Sara Bruno, Ashton Owen and Caitlyn Yockey registered multi-hit performances. The Royals ranked #11 in NAIA DI with 6 triples heading into the night. They added two more in game one extending their total to 8. Kayleigh Walters and Kasey Heslin both added a bag to their stolen base totals as both remain perfect on the season. Sylvia Welsh threw 4.2 innings in the start surrendering 6 runs, 5 earned, and striking out 6 to earn her 5th win of the season. Tiffany Dodson picked up her first save throwing 2.1 innings spreading out 3 hits.
 
Game 2 – WU 20, RMU 6
 
For the 4th time in Warner Softball history the Royals put 20 runs on the board in a single game. More impressively, they didn't hit a single homerun. Abigail Oliver was 2-4 at the plate but finished the game with a team high 4 RBI's. The Royals hit 5 doubles off the bats of Brandy Ashmore (1), Sara Bruno (1), Breyonna Shell (2), and Abigail Oliver (1). Kasey Heslin and Ashton Owen bruised a couple of softballs on their way to triples in the game. The pair of triples took the team total to 10 triples on the season and bumps them to a tie for #5 in the NAIA in total triples. Tiffany Dodson earned her 6th win on the season surrendering just 3 hits, 1 unearned run, and striking out 6.
 
The No. 25 Royals improve to 13-3 on the season and enter a 5 game winning streak. They'll have a tough matchup in line for tomorrows doubleheader against (RV) Cumberlands.
