MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Turnovers plagued Royals again as they continue to search for their first Sun Conference win.

The overall series between the two teams now stands at 7-25 in favor of the Lions. The Royals last won against the Lions 61-52 on February 3, 2016. A streak that now extends into its sixth year, Florida Memorial has claimed 11 straight games.
In today's game the Royals carried a five-point lead following the first quarter of play. The Lions went on a spree in the second, third and fourth quarters hitting better than 50% of their shots to take the eventual 76-55 victory over the Royals.
Alysa Augustin stepped in and showed leadership for the Royals with a team leading and career high 20 points. The second-year Royal hit 9-16 from the field and snagged 9 rebounds. Defensively, Augustin added a block and 4 steals. Another bright spot in the Royals lineup was the freshman
Dianis Hurtado. Hurtado was 6-11 form the field and brought down 9 rebounds. The senior
D'Asia James furthered her season totals establishing dominance under the net with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.
