BABSON PARK, Fla. - Warner saw a five game winning streak over the Warriors snapped on the road last night with a 79-75.
While the Royals have proved tough to beat at home, their record fell below .500 on the road last night. The loss came in the Crooked Lake Rivalry against Webber International. The Warriors gained their eighth win of the season in the upset while the Royals lost for just the third time.
Darryl Mercer Jr. registered a game high 24 points last night and that brings his career totals to just 22 points away from 1,000 career points at 978. In the all-around effort by Mercer he also had 3 steals, 2 assists, 5 rebounds and shot 10-17 from the field. Rod Boggan joined Mercer as the other Royal to gain double digit points finishing the game with 19. Boggan shot 3-8 from three point range while snagging 6 rebounds and adding 3 assists.
The Royals are 12-2 against the Warriors in the last 14 matchups. Both losses occurred while visiting Babson Park. Also, both losses were decided by a cumulative of just a five point difference. Warner took the earlier matchup at home against the Warriors leaving the 2020-21 series split at 1-1.
