LAKE WALES, Fla. – Royals win home opener against the Barons of Brewton-Parker College.
As the Royals open the season as the No. 1 team in the SUN conference preseason coaches poll. They took their first win of the season in the Turner Athletic Center. As they were 12-2 at home last season, they are off to a great start.
After today's game, the Royals remain undefeated against the Barons, they are now 3-0. The last time these two teams faced each other was in 2019 in Georgia where the Royals got the win 112-79.
Junior,
Darryl Mercer Jr. was the leading scorer for the Royals, he scored 16 points. Mercer went 4-4 from the line. Both
Logan West and
Blaize Darling Jr. scored 14 points in the game. They also recorded 4 rebounds and 4 steals each.
Jeremiah Saunders also registered 14 points in his first game as a Royal. Saunders went 4-6 from beyond the arc.
Next up, the Royals will face the Eagles of the University of Fort Lauderdale in the Turner Athletic Center for the second home game of the season.
