LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner took game two from the nationally recognized Warriors so far this season. The Royals held off the Warriors late in the game to earn their third season victory.
The Royals offense registered 7 hits as a team while the Warriors put up 6 hits. In the bottom of the 1st, John Pichman hit a 3-run homerun to left-center scoring Josh Strickland and Taylor Briggs. Strickland recorded 2 RBIs scoring Briggs in the bottom of the 3rd and 6th with a ground ball and a single. Logan Flood singled to left field in the bottom of the 5th gaining an RBI. In the bottom of the 5th Jan Martinez doubled with a deep shot to center field and recorded an RBI scoring Flood.
John Bean took the win off the mound tonight improving to 2-0 in the season. He was one of seven Royals pitchers to appear in the game.
Warner improves to an overall record of 3-1. Next up the Royals will take a trip to Jacksonville, Fla. to face the Tigers of Edward Waters College on Friday, February 12th, and Saturday, February 13th, in a four game series.
