LAKE WALES, Fla. – With today's win over the Fire of Southeastern University Head Coach
Sean Hanrahan earned his 300
th career victory.
Warner and Southeastern faced each other three times during the regular season. The Royals were 3-0 against the Fire prior to the postseason.
The Royals played their first game of the postseason with tremendous energy from the moment the clock began. Tonight, was the first night that fans were back to watch them play after a full season. In the first half, the score was 38-32 in favor of Warner.
Darryl Mercer was the leading scorer for the Royals in the first half with 11 points.
During the second half out of the 41 points that were scored by the Royals,
Rod Boggan scored 11 along with 1 steal, 3 assists, and 4 rebounds. Boggan who is ranked No. 29 in the NAIA for free-throw percentage went 1-1 tonight.
Overall, Boggan was just shy away from a double-double with 19 points and 9 rebounds.
Joseph Martz played a great 24 minutes collecting 13 points, going 4-4 from the line and 3-5 from the arc.
Warner will face St.Thomas on Friday, February 26 at 5:00 pm as they host the Sun Conference Semi-Finals.
