(18) Warner Softball – Royals Split with (23) Fire In TSC Series of the Week

LAKE WALES, Fla. – In a matchup of two of the NAIA Top-25 teams and also the Sun Conference series of the week, (18) Warner and (23) Southeastern split the double header both remaining tied for first in TSC play.
 
Game One – WU 3, SEU 2
 
The Fire struck first blood in the top of the first inning on a sac fly. They added another in the top of the fifth to take a 2-0 lead over the Royals. In the bottom of the sixth, Warner capitalized on a couple of costly errors by the Fire and added 3-runs taking the 3-2 lead.
 
The Royals were held to five hits in the game but they made them count. Both Breyonna Shell and Jennifer Bryant registered two hits each.
 
Tiffany Dodson slammed the door shut on the Fire in the top of the seventh inning throwing the complete game and earning her 15th win of the season. Dodson tossed 7 innings, 8 hits, 2 runs, and struck out 4.
 
Game two – WU 0, SEU 1
 
The Fire jumped on top again in the top of the first inning with one run. The run would hold out until the end of the game as the Royals were held to just three hits.
 
Tiffany Dodson threw the complete 7 innings for the Royals spreading out 8 hits and 2 runs striking out 4.
 
The Royals improve to 19-7 overall with the split and 4-2 in Sun Conference play.
