(20) Warner Softball – Royals Take Series From (RV) Warriors in Crooked Lake Rivalry Matchup

LAKE WALES, Fla. – (20) Warner takes both games from the Warriors in a Sun Conference matchup. Royals improve to 27-13 overall and 11-7 in Sun Conference play. 
 
The history between these two rivals dates back to March 29, 2006, with a record of 26-17 in favor of the Royals. 
 
Game one 
 
In the bottom of the 2nd, Kelly Dwyer registered an RBI with a sacrifice fly to center field scoring Jennifer Bryant to take the lead. Kasey Heslin singled to right field listed an RBI scoring Ashton Owen to improve the game to 2-0. Alison Yawn recorded an RBI with a sacrifice fly to left field scoring Jada Cruz to expand the lead to 3-0 Royals up. 
 
Tiffany Dodson collected her 20th win of the season. Dodson threw a complete game shutout. 
 
Game two 
 
The Warriors scored a run in the 1st inning to take the lead. Warner answered back in the bottom of the 1stwhen Sara Bruno registered an RBI with a sacrifice fly to center field scoring Yawn to tie the game 1-1. 
 
In the bottom of the 2nd, Dwyer singled to center field recorded an RBI scoring Owen to take the lead. Katelyn Richards capitalized on an error by the third baseman and reached first and Heslin scored to make the game 3-1 in favor of the Royals. In the bottom of the 3rd, Dwyer registered another RBI with a sacrifice fly to left field scoring Bruno. In the bottom of the 4th, Breyonna Shell singled to right field listed an RBI scoring Yawn to improve the game to 5-1 Royals up. 
 
In the 7th, Webber scored 3 runs to end the game with a final score of 5-4. Dodson threw a complete game once again and took the win for the Royals, she notched her 21th win of the season. 
 
Warner will travel to Lakeland, Fla. on Saturday, April 24 to face Southeastern University in a Sun Conference matchup.
