LAKE WALES, Fla. – Royals win the last two home games of the season before entering the post-season tournament next week. Warner improves their overall record to 31-19.
The history between these two teams is fairly new, it dates back to April 3, 2018. The overall record is 6-1 in favor of the Royals.
Game one
Florida National got off to an early start and scored 1 run in the top of the 1
st to take the lead. In the bottom of the 1
st,
David Torres reached on a fielder's choice registered 2 RBIs scoring
Tyler Brown and
Jan Martinez to take the lead 2-1. In the bottom of the 3
rd, Torres singled to right field listed 2 more RBIs scoring
John Pichman and Brown to improve the game to 4-1 Royals up.
The Conquistadors scored 2 runs in the top of the 4
th. In the bottom of the 4
th,
Brian Spradlin homered to left field to improve the game to 5-3. In the bottom of the 5
th, Torres doubled up the middle registered another RBI scoring Pichman.
Josh Strickland singled to center field listed 2 RBIs scoring Torres and
Logan Flood.
Zachary Balogh reached on a fielder's choice listed an RBI scoring Strickland to make the game 9-3. Florida National scored 2 more runs in the top of the 6
th to make the game 9-5. In the bottom of the 6
th,
Alexander Ramos scored on a wild pitch to win make the game 10-5.
Ryan Wimbush started the game on the mound for the Royals, he pitched 1 inning.
Ryley Rozar went in relief for Wimbush and took the win off of the mound, improving his overall record to 2-4.
Game two
The Conquistadors scored 2 runs in the top of the 1
st. In the bottom of the 1
st, Martinez doubled to left field and scored on an error by the shortstop to make the game 2-1 Warner trailing. In the bottom of the 4
th, Pichman hit his 18
th home run of the season to center field to tie the game. For a back-to-back Flood homered to left field to take the lead 3-2.
Taylor Briggs capitalized on an error by the catcher and scored a run.
Anthony Capri scored on a passed ball to make the game 5-2 Royals up.
Florida National scored 2 runs in the top of the 6
th to make the game 4-5. In the bottom of the 6
th, Briggs hit a home run to left-center listed 2 RBIs scoring
Devin Frost to advance the lead. Martinez joined in on the home run party and homered to left field to make the game 8-4.
Pedro Reyes started the game for the Royals, he went 2 innings. Andy Yarbrough went in relief for Reyes and took the win off of the mound.
The Royals begin post-season play in the Sun Conference tournament in West Palm Beach, Fla on May 6-9.
