WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Royals play against Taylor University and (RV) Madonna University in the Keiser Invitational sponsored by Palm Beach County Sports Commission.
Before today's game, the last time Warner played Taylor was August 30, 2014, in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Miranda Manduley,
Alexandra Gonzalez, and
TarriAnne Henry led the Royals offensively with Manduley (5), Gonzalez (4), and Henry (3) kills each.
Madison Hughes led with 8 assists and
Becca Mack ended with 7.
The defensive leader of game one was Gonzalez with 10 digs and 2 blocks.
For Game two the Royals faced the Crusaders of Madonna University in Michigan. The last time Warner played Madonna was in 2009. Crusaders took the first set 11-25 but the Royals came from in set two to win 25-22. Set 3 and 4 were very close but the Royals fell a little short.
Senior, Gonzalez was on the leader board once again with 12 kills. She ended with a total of 16 kills in the day.
Alyssa Muench had 10 kills and
Lady Gwendolyn Simpson had 7 kills. Freshman,
Kylee Brooks, and Mack recorded 3 service aces.
Hughes led once again with 23 assists for the Royals.
Defensively
Alyanna Correia led with 14 digs and
Hannah Bell with 4 blocks.
The Royals will return home to play in the Royals Classic against St. Andrews on August 20 at 11:30 am.
