LAKE WALES, Fla. – Royals end a suspenseful game in a tie against Webber International University 2-2 on Monday night.
The Crooked Lake Rivalry still lives, this was the first game back since these two teams played with fans since 2019. The history between these two teams dates back to 15 years ago.
The Royals had a total of 15 shots during the game, and the Warriors had only 9. Webber International would strike early and first when Versailies Clark scored her first goal of the game. The Royals were not going to go down without a fight. In the Second half, Sophomore
Sophia Raby tied the game against the Warriors in the 57
th minute of the game with a great pass by the veteran
Maddie Manzke.
With exactly one minute and 16 seconds later the Senior Emma Marshal would take the lead for the Royals after scoring from a free kick. It almost would look like the Royals would close out the Crooked Lake Rivalry with a win, until Clark scored her second goal of the game from a free kick in the 87
th minute of the game sending it into overtime. The game then went into double overtime and resulted in a tie.
The Royals next matchup will be against the Warriors again on Saturday, October 2, at 11:00 AM EST at Webber International University.
