Warner Women's Volleyball Lose To The Seahawks At Home

LAKE WALES, Fla - The Royals took on the Seahawks of Keiser University at home in a Sun Conference match.

The Royals looked to get back in the win column against the Keiser University Seahawks in Lake Wales, Fla. The first set was intense as both teams seemed to be in a groove, going back and forth before the Seahawks pulled away and won the set with a close 25-22 score. Leah Cooley had a good start and led the Royals offense with six kills, with freshman Cristina Marrero behind her as she finished with five. The Royals came out slow in the second set falling behind early and the Seahawks took advantage extending their lead up to ten before finishing the set by a ten point margin at 25-15. Senior Karla Rodriguez anchored the defense with 15 digs, and finished with three aces as well. Keiser's Brooklyn Slater was a problem for the Royals, having a game leading 13 kills in the match and being a huge factor in the Seahawks offense. The Royals looked to start a comeback in the third set, but the Seahawks offense seemed to have been too much as they would fall in the final set of the match and drop their seventh conference match of the year.
