PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL- The Royals started their tournament play at the Battle of The Beach, as they faced off against Faulkner University.
The Royals started their tournament play as they faced off against Faulkner University. After a strong back and forth first half, the Royals found themselves trailing 42-34. The Royals had a strong first half performance from
Blaize Darling Jr as he tallied 15 points, 3 rebounds in 16 minutes of play while shooting an impressive 87% from the field. The Royals defense was strong as they recorded 4 steals to go along with their two blocks in the half. The Eagles put up strong numbers as well as they were able to out rebound the Royals throughout the first half. The Royals looked to maintain their strong fight as they were trailing heading into the second half. After a highly competitive first half, the Royals looked to muster a comeback and take the game away from the Eagles. Faulkner got off to a big lead in the second half but the Royals would go on a run of their own to keep the lead manageable coming down the stretch.
Logan West would do his part notching a double-double, with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists for the Royals, the Royals struggled shooting from behind the arc as they would make less than 20% of the three's they took but were able to get much of their points from inside the paint. The Royals would eventually fall short of the Eagles dropping their record to 2-3 heading into day two of the Battle of the Beach tournament.Â

- Logan West also had a monster game as he would record a 20 point double-double, with 10 rebounds, and five assists.
- Sophomore Christian Nurse tallied 16 points, six rebounds, and two blocks for the Royals.Â
