Warner Men's Basketball Dominate The Sun's At Home

LAKE WALES, FL- The Royals faced off against the Johnson University Suns in a non-conference game in Lake Wales, Fla.

This was a dominating game for the Royals as they took a double-digit half time lead over the Suns and continued to pull away in the second half. The Royals were led by a great performance from Jamal Norris as he notched 16 points on 50% shooting from the field, along with two blocks and a steal. The Royals were aggressive on the boards tonight, out rebounding the visiting Suns 46 to 35. The blocking from both teams was a big stand out as Warner and the Suns manufactured 6 and 7 blocks respectively. Willie Jones was a force to be reckoned with off the bench tonight, grabbing nine rebounds for the Royals to keep the ball out of the visiting Suns' hands. Johnson University got a good performance today from Hebreux Aime as he finished with 10 points and 3 rebounds in the matchup. The Royals kept their foot on the gas, holding a sizable lead throughout the contest. The Royals forced 28 turnovers from their opponents, along with 21 offensive rebounds allowing for second chance points to be a big part of their win. The Royals came out and put together a dominant showing, beating the Johnson University Suns 81 – 45. Blaize Darling Jr. continues to be a weapon on offense scoring 12 points, and adding another double-digit scoring effort to his season. Warner's offense was also helped by a 14-point effort from Christian Nurse. The Royals look to keep this momentum going as they host Carolina University on December 14th as part of the Warner Classic.

  • Jamal Norris recorded 16 points on 50% shooting from the field. Norris notched two rebounds, two steals, while making his only shot from the stripe.
  • Willie Jones tied Christian Nurse for the team lead in rebounds with 9, while also contributing five points to their offensive effort. Jones provided a great effort off the bench, with solid interior play.
  • Blaize Darling Jr. continues to score for the Royals this season, as he contributes another double-digit scoring effort, while also tallying eight rebounds and five assists. The Royals will look to continue getting Darling the ball as the season rolls through.
  • The Royals forced a whopping 28 turnovers in the game.
