LAKE WALES, FL- The Royals hosted Mitchell College in a non conference matchup in the final game of the homestand.
This game was all back and forth as both teams put up great showings on the offensive and on defensive sides of the court. The Royals had multiple great performances as
Blaize Darling Jr recorded 23 points, 2 blocks, 2 assists, and 10 rebounds in his 38 minutes of play.
Logan West scored 23, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists in his 37 minutes of play. The Royals were persistent getting the boards as they were able to outrebound their opponents 37-27. The Mariners played a tough defensive set against the Royals as they came up with 11 steals throughout the entirety of the game. However, this seesaw battle allowed both teams to one up each other on multiple sides of the game. The Royals had 20 points on second chance opportunities and 40 points in the paint. While their opponents had 16 second chance points and 36 points in the paint. The Mariners had a good performance from Clardy as he finished with 20 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds. The Royals would continue to battle back from trailing in the first half 47-40, but would just fall short of finishing the comeback against the Mariners due to a last second bucket with time winding down, as they dropped the one point defeat with a score of 82-81.Â
