LAKE WALES, FL --The Warner Royals volleyball team took a deficit to the Southeastern Fire 3-0 (19-25, 19-25, 12-25) Wednesday evening at home.
The Sun Conference matchup loss brings your Warner Royals to 6-8 for the season (1-4 SUN).
The Royals game leaders were Leah Cooley, who led her team and game in kills with 11 kills, 9 digs, and 1 block to help put points on the board for the Royals, and Imar Laboy, leading the team with 23 assists and accumulating the most assists on both sides. On the defensive end, Ashlyn Fassnacht led the Royals with 14 digs, keeping the ball in play.
Post Game Interview
After the matchup we interviewed Head Coach, Linda Pai, and asked her thoughts on the matchup, "I think we did phenomenal. We have been working really hard despite having a young crew. The game plans were executed, they worked really hard to make sure they could pass and receive well and it showed tonight." When we asked about the game plan for this upcoming match Saturday she stated she looks at taking a loss as a way to learn and get back to the drawing board. So we will see how the Royals adapt and come ready for their next match against Florida Memorial.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Royals fell behind early in the first set, losing 25-19. The Royals worked tirelessly to keep themselves competitive. Falling short, the Fire ended with a victory in Set 1.
SET 2 | The Royals took the lead in the beginning. Despite the momentary change in the set possession, the Royals could not deliver a comeback and fell to the Fire 25-19.
SET 3 | The Royals caught the Fire sleeping taking an early lead in this last set. The Fire pushed on and regained the lead and scored nine straight points to seal the deal, finishing the last set 25-12.
